There’s a new spot in Leavenworth offering great opportunities to learn more about your hobby or passion, and connect and create with like-minded artists. If you hadn’t heard, Icicle Arts recently changed its name to Artis and formed a new brand to better align with its updated Mission and Vision,

Now settled into their new location at 11734 Highway 2 in Leavenworth, next to Sage Mountain Natural Foods and Safe Havens Auto Repair, Artis is taking full advantage of their new space by decorating the walls with locally handmade art and inviting the community to visit for one or many of their arts classes. With everything from painting classes for kids to photography classes for adults, check out a glimpse of their schedule below, find a class that fits your interests, and pay them a visit! Talk about encouraging, educating, and sharing the arts, they cover it all!

Kids Art Classes: The Art of Architecture
Architecture is the art and science of translating how we live and interact with each other into the creation of built space. Tuesday afternoons in May, kids can join architect Todd Smith using simple tools and supplies to create imaginary planned worlds… 6-9 year olds at 3:15pm, 10-14 year olds at 4:30pm. Siri Jewlery Show & Artis Creative Mother’s Day project
Locally made jewelry show by Siri Jewelry. One day only! 15% of sales to benefit arts education. From 4-8pm on Saturday, May 9 at Artis, enjoy refreshments and a free creative paper flower project for kids, by Carl Vivaldi.

 

Artis… happening at Spring Bird Fest
Throughout May, come view the new bird inspired art of local artist Heather Murphy. During Bird Fest, studio open daily 10am-4pm.

– Saturday, May 16 8:30am-12:30pm How to Draw Birds: Scratchboard Art with Marlin Peterson

Free Community Mandala Project
Come by Artis and paint a large mandala on a canvas to be hung at our studio. Help decorate our space at Artis with this fun and free project lead by Amber Zimmerman. No artistic experience required. For adults and teens. Wed, May 20 6:30-8:30pm

 

ARTS-O-RAMA! Elementary Arts Expo
Cascade School District elementary schools have a lot going on when it comes to their arts education programs. Come learn, enjoy short performances, exhibits, dinner, as well as the sweet music of Erin McNamee. Thursday May 28 4-7pm @ Cascade High School. Artis Open House Celebration
Come check out what Artis (formerly Icicle Arts) has been up to, and celebrate with us. Color Theory for Visual Artists Mini Art Workshop with Sarah Jane
This fast-paced workshop will cover elements of color theory and visual perception, interspersed with a variety of hands-on color exercises, exploring the color wheel, experimenting with combining and creating colors using a variety of materials including yarns, collage paper, and acrylic paints.
