Icicle TV and hosted Felt Sole Media’s Damnation last night at Icicle Creek Center for the Art’s Snowy Owl theater, bringing together friends from all over for an evening of great film and discussion. This latest offering in ICCA’s Confluence Film series has been traveling the country, winning several film festival prizes and quickly becoming an audience favorite. At times critical of the current state of fish and water, Damnation asks tough questions and discovers that the answers are not black and white.
KOHO Radio’s Program Director Clint Strand MC’d the evening and led a discussion panel drawn from different backgrounds. Panelists included Jason Lundgren from Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, Tracy Yount from Chelan PUD, Steve Parker from the Yakama Nation Fisheries, Wilfred and Rufus Wood from the Wenatchee World and Thomas Okeefe from American Whitewater.
Offering insights into the real world complexities of dam removal issues, the panel was a rare public forum. Damnation’s scope and attention to story achieved the ultimate goal of good art- it created good discussion… One that we imagine will not end any time soon. Special thanks to all of our panelists for taking time out of their schedules to speak and to everyone who came out and plunked down their hard earned ten bucks for a great night out! We love you Leavenworth!
You can watch Damnation in your home soon. Vimeo on demand will be offering the film online next month. We recommend watching it on the big screen at one of the upcoming Washington showings.
