Starting tomorrow, Thursday June 2th, 2016, the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market will be open for business from 4pm – 8pm in Lion’s Club Park off Highway 2 in Leavenworth, WA.
Stop by to enjoy live music and savory homemade treats, while you browse the vendor booths offering fresh locally-grown produce, local cheeses and breads, local meats, hand-made arts & crafts. Do you like sweet corn, melons, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, plums, apricots, cherries, nectarines, eggplant, beets, carrots, onions, garlic, apples, pears, radishes, kale, or green beans (you must like at least one…)? Find it all and support your local area farmers! Plus, several food vendors will be on site so you can grab some dinner while you’re there.
In a time of big chain superstores selling food that usually travels thousands of miles between farm and table, the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market is growing year after year due to the overwhelming support shown by area consumers and providers. With the surrounding mountains, rivers, and wildlife, those of us lucky enough to call the Leavenworth area home are always reminded of our close relationship with nature, day in and day out. And this is just another way our lovely little town promotes healthy lifestyle choices that are good for the people, and the planet.
The Leavenworth Community Farmers Market occurs every Thursday from June 2nd through October 20th. Same place. Same time.
What’s new for 2016? Besides a variety of new vendors, and we’ve heard there’s a new layout which will encourage a more friendly and welcoming space to browse the vendors, eat some dinner, enjoy the live music, and socialize with friends and family.
