You may have noticed blue and white signs popping up in Leavenworth’s residential areas stating “Be Cool-Support the Pool!”, as the property tax levy that runs every six years to support operation of the facility is coming up on the August 7th ballot. The City pool in Leavenworth provides a fun and safe place to cool off, for both locals and visitors, and offers swim lessons, water aerobics classes, lap swimming and kayak roll sessions.
The Upper Valley & Recreation Service Area (PRSA), operators of the pool, is asking voters to approve a slight increase in the tax amount to a total of 11 cents per thousand for the next six years, an amount that will cost taxpayers a total of $18.30 per $100,000 home, an over the previous amount of $14.80 per $100,000.
