As we near the end of October, the fall colors around Leavenworth, WA are bursting with bright yellows, oranges, and reds, especially in Tumwater Canyon along Highway 2 just outside of town. The low water conditions in the oftentimes raging Tumwater Canyon, provide for colorful reflections, while further down the Wenatchee River, the Blackbird Island trails are coated with a bright gold and the river banks are lined with a variety of colors. And in the distance, ridge lines and high slopes leading to rocky peaks reveal bright clusters of yellow larches visible from the valley floor.
