Ever wonder what the view looks like from inside of a firefighting helicopter? Footage of Washington National Guard aviators fighting fires in Eastern Washington.
“The video provides a unique perspective of the wildfire mission as the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter scoops up water with its 660 gallon bucket, flies through smoke-filled skies and drops it on the flames below. The camera was mounted on the helmet of Sergeant 1st Class Kyle Davis, the crew chief of the UH-60 Blackhawk. The footage demonstrates the poor visibility in which the pilots had to fly.”
