Icicle Creek Center for the Arts kicks off it’s new monthly film series Thursday, November 7th with the showing of Farm For The Future, a documentary about getting back to the land, at their new state of the art Snowy Owl Theater.
Confluence Film Series will be screening documentaries that invite critical thinking in the areas of nature and environment, outdoor adventure, arts and culture, food and farming, social and economic justice, and health and personal journies and will be featuring local non-profits along with subject experts for post-viewing discussion sessions.
In Farm For The Future, wildlife film maker Rebecca Hosking investigates how to transform her family’s farm in Devon into a low energy farm for the future, and discovers that nature holds the key. With her father close to retirement, Rebecca returns to her family’s wildlife-friendly farm in Devon, to become the next generation to farm the land.
This month, the featured local non-profit is the Leavenworth Community Farmer’s Market. Join in the post-film conversation with local farmer Grant Gibbs and Leavenworth Farmers Market Director, Erik Link for a discussion about this film’s relevance to farming issues in the Wenatchee valley.
The film starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.icicle.org.
