Fire Update For Icicle Canyon – 2pm September 20

We talked with Randy Shepard from the Wenatchee Complex Information Center at 2pm and he provided the following information.

The fire has spread to 658 acres. There is now a crew of 20-30 people fighting the fire around Mt. Cashmere. They have created a system of trails and fire lines to guide the fire into previously burned areas. The crew has moved down to the lower 8 mile rd area and are now working on establishing boundaries in this zone. This fire is not seeing any helicopter water drops at this time. Icicle Road remains open and only the 8 mile rd is closed.

The heli-base will also be reestablished in the coming days to Fish Lake due to the amount of smoke in the air quality in Leavenworth.
