It was the realization of a dream for Ryan Daudistel. The climber had spied a promising series of unclimbed cracks ascending the NW face of the Witches Tit, a sheer granite wall that towers over passing hikers as they traverse the upper Enchantment basin. The unclimbed line stuck in Ryan’s memory for years until he teamed up with Leavenworth local Sol Wertkin. Plans were hatched, schedules matched, and then there was nothing left to do but get the business done.
The duo, on their first climbing trip together, racked up and climbed 6 pitches of clean granite cracks, encountering difficulties up to 5.10/ C2. Climbed free except a few pesky moves out an 8 foot horizontal roof, Mimirs Price was reportedly “a lot of fun”.
Climbers have been sending hard routes in the Enchantments for decades and it looks like they will continue to do so for decades more. Keep your knots tight and we’ll see you at the top!
