icicle_ridge_thumb_2The run that Jim Jack called the “best of his life”. Three thousand vertical feet and walking distance to the town of Leavenworth, Icicle Ridge is better known for having one of the most popular hiking trails in the valley. Thanks to the storm of the season, the ridge became rideable for a short period of time and Jim Jack, Shane Wilder, Rex Flake, and Joe Vasta hit it up.

With an alpine start, the riders skinned up the Icicle Ridge trail to the top and descended down the east shoulder. The line can easily be viewed from town and was originally scoped out while drinking beer on the deck of Gustavs. Conditions were surprisingly good with knee deep blower powder top to bottom.
