The 10th annual Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest runs from May 17th to May 20th and will be filled with many opportunities to get out and explore our natural world. Bird Fest has something for everyone: kids to adults, and for every level of interest: birding trips for beginners, advanced birding by ear, wildflower walks and bike rides for the “less birdy” individuals.
In addition to the fieldtrips, Birdfest will also feature an arts component with professional and student art shows and the Songbird Concert and there will be a strong Latino element through Dancing with Birds/Team Naturaleza!
We interviewed Director Gail Roberts, Director of the Leavenworth Spring Bird about the festival and she let us know how people can participate.
Leavenworth Spring Birdfest is truly a community effort and is hosted by Wenatchee River Institute (formerly Barn Beach Reserve, the US Forest Service, Leavenworth, Washington, the US Fish & Wildlife Service, Washington Native Plant Society, North Central Audobon Society, Team Naturaleza!, Washington State Parks, and sponsored by many local organizations.
