One of the joys of living on the East Side of the mountains in the winter is the possibility of those magical days when the West Side of Stevens Pass closes and the ski area belongs to you and your friends alone. The normally frantic pace of a powder day slows just a little as you realize that the knee or even waist deep fluffy stuff isn’t going anywhere and your favorite lines might just be untracked…for a while.
