jj_memorial_300x139Leavenworth Winter Sports Club is hosting their Fall Fundraiser tonight to a sold out crowd of 400 at the Festhalle in Leavenworth to raise funds for the Ski Hill Memorial project.

The sports club states that “The Memorial Project will become a gathering place to honor the friends we recently lost to avalanches.  We experienced the loss of Daniel Zimmermann on Mount Cashmere on March 5, 2011, followed by Johnny Brenan, Jim Jack and Chris Rudolph in the tragic Tunnel Creek Stevens Pass avalanche on February 19, 2012.  Our extended Leavenworth and Stevens Pass families will create a place to keep their memories alive in our mountains.”

If you don’t have tickets to tonight’s fundraiser, you can still contribute by making a donation and helping to make the project a reality by going to www.razoo.com.  To date, over $6800 has already been raised towards the goal of $500,000.
