Enjoy beautiful music in the meadow, at the base of the Icicle Valley, as young musicians perform the pieces they have learned during the past week Icicle Creek Center for the Arts.
The campus at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts has been alive with music, as kids from both Wenatchee Valley and all over the Pacific Northwest, have come together for the annual Summer Symphony camp. Participants that attend the summer camp learn from esteemed coaches and conductors not only about the technical aspects of their craft but also about many life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, and the feeling of accomplishment.
With rehearsals most of the day, they also have an opportunity to greatly expand their repertoire with pieces from composers like Mozart, Bach and Gershwin, while playing at the base of the Cascade Mountains in an atmosphere that couldn’t be much more inspiring.

When we asked kids what their favorite parts of Summer Symphony are, they told us it’s “the music, the fun, the beautiful scenery, learning how to play our instruments better, the friends, activities like whitewater rafting and…the food!” It’s hard to say whether the opportunity to enjoy their music in such a beautiful setting or the camaraderie shared by new found friends is the most special part of this week for participants that often come back year after year but it’s easy to see that their time at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts instills a lifetime love of the arts.
The culmination of the week long Summer Symphony is the Finale Concert set for 11:00 am tomorrow, Saturday the 30th at the outdoor stage on the Icicle Creek Campus and will be followed by a barbecue lunch. The community is welcome to join and be treated to performances by this amazing group of talented kids. Tickets are $5 and the barbeque lunch will available for purchase as well.
